Golf in Scottsdale:

We-Ko-Pa Golf Course

Welcome to the world’s finest golf destination. It’s a bold claim, but we’ve got the numbers to back it up. Start with nearly 200 Scottsdale-area golf courses and 330 plus days of sunshine annually. Add in local residents like Aaron Baddeley, Brandel Chamblee and Tom Lehman. And when you top it off with an enviable collection of golf lifestyle pursuits, Scottsdale’s virtues are as clear as the sky on a typical day.

Scottsdale promises you a vacation experience unlike any other. The magic begins with our setting in the heart of the lush Sonoran Desert. Here, light takes on an ethereal quality, bathing the sky, desert and mountains in rich, vibrant hues. Trails laced with whimsically shaped cacti, playful wildflowers and fragrant desert plants invite exploration and adventure. And glittering star-filled skies create the perfect backdrop for a romantic dinner or exciting night out on the town. This is the magic of Scottsdale – experience it today!

Outdoor Adventure Extraordinaire!

With more than 200 courses in the city and surrounding area, Scottsdale is a golfer’s paradise. Want to be in-tune with the desert while you play? Check out award-winning Scottsdale desert golf courses like TPC Scottsdale, Troon North, Grayhawk and We-Ko-Pa.

Traditional courses more your style? Look to notables like Talking Stick, McCormick Ranch, Camelback and Gainey Ranch. But the fun doesn’t end when you step off the green. Scottsdale’s dining and nightlife scene creates a 19th-hole experience that’s just what you need to elevate your next golf vacation.

Desert Gems:

Scottsdale’s Sonoran Desert is spectacular no matter where you stay, but if you really want to experience the desert at its very finest – without sacrificing one iota of luxury or being too far from great golf – my suggestion would be either The Boulders, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, or Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North.

Boulders is located on 1,300 acres of perhaps the most dramatically beautiful desert in north Scottsdale. The setting is absolutely otherworldly. Wildlife viewing along the golf course is superb and at night the skies are filled with countless stars. Oh, and the Waldorf Astoria Spa is pretty out of this world, too. Not to be outdone, the Four Seasons Resort is tucked into the foothills of Scottsdale’s iconic McDowell Mountains. The service, accommodations and amenities are everything you’d expect from a Four Seasons, and for my money, there’s no better place to watch the sunset. If you’re energetic, the nearby Pinnacle Peak hiking trail is one of Scottsdale’s finest.

Start with acclaimed chefs creating bold flavors that flirt with your taste buds. Mix in more than 600 restaurants serving up regional and global specialties. Add a dash of sophistication with robust wine lists. Top it all off with fabulous al fresco dining, and Scottsdale’s got the perfect recipe for a foodie’s paradise. No matter what type of cuisine you’re craving, you’ll find plenty of flavors to savor in Scottsdale.

There’s nothing better after a great round of golf with friends than getting cleaned up a bit and enjoying a good meal. Doesn’t matter if it’s a sports bar or microbrewery with great food, a world-class steak paired with the perfect bottle of wine, or something a little more adventurous or exotic. The conversations and good times just seem to flow effortlessly. I love it.

Unless you’ve been keeping score, you might not know that Scottsdale has long been considered a top spot for dining. The variety is tremendous – more than 600 in all. It runs the gamut from simple and accessible to as chic as you please with award-winning chefs and magnificent talent yet to be discovered. And, with our outstanding climate you can enjoy al fresco dining all winter long.

Testimonials:

I’ve been told that Scottsdale is home to the finest concentration of golf-oriented, full-service resorts in North America, and that wouldn’t surprise me a bit. What I know for sure, is no matter what type of experience you want, you can find it here in Scottsdale. We’ve got everything from world-class luxury resorts to intimate boutique properties.

We’ve got out-of-the-way oases surrounded by the Sonoran Desert and swank city hotels close to all the attractions. We’ve got places for friends, couples, business associates and families. We even have casino resorts that rival anything offered in Vegas. With so much to offer, I can’t cover all the bases, but here are some of my favorites.
